About

My name is Gbemi and I enjoy helping people.

I provide individual, couples and family therapy, as well as coaching and behavior modification programming. As a Nationally Certified Counselor, I diagnose and treat mental health disorders, and as a Coach and Behavior Change Specialist, I simplify the complex science of Behavior and teach you how to apply the Psychology of Learning to improve your everyday life.

I have extensive experience in the Human Services field, having worked for several years as a Crisis Counselor on the National Suicide Prevention Helpline, Case Manager and Disability Integration Advisor for the federal government, and as a Behavior Therapist in Autism clinics. I particular enjoy working with Neurodivergent clients, especially individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

My therapeutic approach is client led, personalized to each individual and heavily influenced by my background in Behavior Science. I combine evidence based treatment methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy as well as current Neuroscience research to provide support and practical tools for my clients to effectively address personal life challenges and improve their outcomes.

I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UHV, as well as a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science from UHCL. I am Board Certified in Applied Behavior Analysis, have completed the first level of Gottman Couples Therapy Method, and I am in the process of becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas.

So, let’s talk about behavior.
